Take care of your well-being

Hair Care as Self-Care

Often, we underestimate the impact that hair care can have on our overall well-being. Taking care of our hair is an act of self-care, and self care is soul care. At Oak + Lorel Salon, we're here to elevate that experience. From our color + cutting techniques to the scented candles that fill our salon, every detail is thoughtfully designed.

Illustration of a charming historic house.

Originally built in the 1900s

The House's History

The Camp-Boyd House was a wedding present from Mrs. W.Y. Stovall to her son, Charlie Camp, about 1900. The house includes decorative spindle-work within the gable, lace-like porch supports and balustrades, with a corner tower on the porch. When state officials informed Charlie's wife, Emma, that her oak trees would have to be sacrificed for the widening of Marietta Street, she was outraged. Refusing to let the oaks be cut down, she stood guard on her porch with a shotgun in hand, throughout the road project.

We try to honor the original house, and you can see much of the original woodwork in the house today.
